| 02/06/2001 | Matthew Hayman, from Hollander team Rabobank, won Challenge's second stage, between Manacor and Can Picafort (181 km). The Australian rookie broke away in the 4th km of the race, and the rest of the racers allowed him to take an advantage of 21 minutes. The Aussie reached the finish line 5 minutes before the group. It was clear that the rest of the cyclists didn't show any interest in the victory today. Nevertheless this is a great goal for 22 years old Hayman. |
