| 05/11/2001 | Thys 240 RowbikeThys manufactures innovative rowbikes in The Netherlands. They have just come out with the new limited edition Thys 240. They have lowered the seat 16cm so it is now only 36cm from the ground. The new model also has a more reclined seat angle that allows for a better workout of the abdominal muscles. The rails of the footslider are considerable higher positioned with respect to the rider, which contributes to improved aerodynamically properties compared to their other model the Thys 222. Because of its higher turning-point, the steer can be pulled further to the back, which enables the rider to remain in a more reclined position.
Both models of the Thys rowbike use a cable driven transmission system on a Snek. The Snek is a aluminum drum with a thread shaped groove which allows the cable to roll on and drive the bike. The cable driven Snek system has very low resistance that allows a silent, clean, and low maintenance ride.
