| 10/10/2005 | A Dutch lawyer revealed his plans today for investigating reports that Lance Armstrong used a banned drug during the 1999 Tour de France. The International Cycling Union assigned the case to Emile Vrijman. He says he plans to look at the accuracy of the test results that formed the basis of a French newspaper's report and how they were leaked to the public. Seven-time Tour winner Armstrong denies using the performance-enhancing drug E-P-O, which wasn't tested for in 1999. The French newspaper L'Equipe alleged in August that traces of the drug were found in a set of the Austin cyclist's backup samples from 1999 that were thawed and retested last year. Even if the report is accurate, the American isn't likely to face sanction because the original "A" samples no longer exist. keyetv.com/localnews/local_story_283173724.html
