| 06/01/2001 | Pastor to Ride Unicycle Across ArizonaPastor Robert Waldron is currently in training to ride his "commuter unicycle" (36" wheel) from the Mexican border (Nogales, AZ) to the entrance of Grand Canyon National Park. The attempt will begin on September 4, 2001 and will cover 30 days and over 430 plus miles. Along the way, Robert will be available for free demos/shows at churches, schools and shopping malls. (To book Robert for an event please call 520 459-8622) At his demonstrations he will dare to ride the seldom seen 6'5" Three Wheel Giraffe "Trinity Unicycle" as well as juggle and perform on various sized unicycles. Robert has a positive message and a down to earth speaking style.
The reason for the trip is to draw awareness of the need for facilities to house the community programs of Thunder Mountain Community Church. TMCC has a weekly mentoring program (Pioneer Clubs) to children and youth that we provide in partnership with another local church as well as being heavily involved in other programs such as Mothers of Preschools and our own (packed out) Sunday School. Thunder Mountain Community Church has a weekly attendance of over 200 and has many young families. Through the generosity of other churches, businesses and private individuals, TMCC is able to have enough borrowed space to carry out its service to the community. Our church offices are contained in a single wide trailer to make temporary space available for our programs and many adult classes are held in "Off Property" location.www.thundermountain.org
