| Increase in American's Cycling During 2000
According to a new National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA)
Sports Participation in 2000 report, there has been an increase of people
riding bikes. For 2000 there was a 0.3% growth in cycling for a total
of 42.5 million Americans. The largest increase was in off-road mountain
biking which rose 4% up from a huge 21.2% decline during 1999. Overall
bicycling was the fifth most popular of 62
sports, recreation and fitness activities surveyed by NSGA.
