| 06/30/2001 | Shimano new pedals for 2003Some pro riders like Roland Green (current Tissot World Cup leader) and José Antonio Hermida are developing a new Shimano pedal. This new pedal will be mainly made of titanium, and also will feature a new design to avoid locks or undesired disengages due to mud.
The new pedals are expected to be a part of the revolutionary 2003 XTR, that is being developed in Japan. It could also be that the new shifters, seen in some pro bikes that are announced to be plusher than the current ones, will be delayed until 2003 to be a part of that new XTR.
In a recent issue of the leading economic Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Shimano Inc, was ranked as the 20th company in Japan.www.shimano.com
