| 07/03/2001 | Downhill Through the America's UpdateChrystine Roy is on a solo bicycle journey that is taking her over 25,000 km from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and going to Ushuaia, Argentina. She is once again moving forward on her journey after a unscheduled break to recover from a broken collarbone that she received during her trip.
"Downhill through the Americas, is definitely what I’ve always dreamed and my passion for life is only starting to grow. My nomadic life, my liberty, my intimacy with nature, my personnel accomplishment, my physical effort, my need of exploration and sharing are all satisfied. Every time I looked at Velou, my mascot, I think of the kids to whom I dedicated this trip, my lung fill up with fresh air, a smile appears on my face and I say Thank you. The adventure is also the unknown, the surprises and it’s now in that, that I find my stability and I appreciated every minute of it. I live the present moment intensively and I’m delighted by every smell, touch and up or down of it. I fell strong but at the same time my skin is thin."
On July 4th she will start again biking heading south from El Salvador. Chrystine is not only cycling for her own goals, but through her quest she is raising money for the Children's Wish Foundation. If you have a couple of bucks that you can part with send a donation on behalf of Chrystine. Full details can be found on the official Downhill Through the America's Website.
