| 07/12/2001 | Ritchey and Shimano Sign SPD License AgreementBicycle Europe is reporting today that Shimano Inc. and Ritchey Design Inc. have reached an agreement that licenses Ritchey to manufacture and distribute pedals with Shimano's patented SPDŽ-technology. Ritchey will still continue to product their own pedals, but with this agreement will be the first company that will be able to use SPD.
Ritchey also reached an agreement with Shimano so that Ritchey is licensed to produce cranks compatible with the Shimano ES-70 eight-tooth spline bottom bracket.
