ADA’s New Products

ADA is a Dutch company that is known because they build the lightest wheelset in the world. Did you ever heard about these black wonders weighting... less than 1 kg !!! If you haven’t fainted yet, maybe you are hard enough to be told that this wheelset costs $2700 give or take a couple of dollars.

Cees and Ada Beers, the company’s owners, are now preparing a stiffer version of their carbon wheels. The regular ones, avalaible until now were stiff enough to be used by some of the best cyclists in the world (Jan Ullrich, Frank Vandenbroucke, Greg Lemond,...) to win Tour De France, World Cup Classicals and even Danish Cyclocross Championships. The new version of the wheelset should be almost as lightweight as their older model. One step closer to becoming the best wheelset in the world. Of course this new model will be avalaible witha Campagnolo or Shimano compatible freewheel body.

A new Bottom Bracket will be also avalaible, featuring ceramic bearings. This model was used by some pros last year, so its reliability is complete.

There will be two versions: one for Campagnolo Record’s Crankset that will be sold very soon, and another for Shimano splined type cranks that will be riden by some pros in this year's Tour De France.

They are also tuning hubs from other companies for some pro riders, so as to achieve the low friction characteristics of ADA’s ceramic berings equipped hubs.

The last novelty are the cork made brake pads that fit Campagnolo and Shimano brakes. Cork is the best matter for a pad that works on a carbon rim. Regular pads tend to slip during a little while, and then lock the wheel. Cork pads are also lighter, so some riders use them with aluminum rims although they wear faster when used on metal rims.

These are some of the wonders that will be coming from ADA’s world soon. Surely you like them, don’t you?
