| 08/02/2001 | Yet Another Potential Buyer for Schwinn/GTPacific Cycles earlier this year the bought the brands Mongoose and Roadmaster from Brunswick Outdoor for $60 million. Now they have topped this with a $73.3 million offer for the bankrupt Schwinn/GT. This is in response to the Denver bankrupt judge Sidney Brooks request for competitive bids for the troubled company.
Pacific has requested a extension of the auction for Schwinn/GT until August 31st, so they can have the time to secure the needed financing. No other companys have inidicated that they will make another competing offer. |
