| 08/17/2001 | Ride On Workshop BurnedOn the early morning of July 31 Ride On's workshop was badly burned by a fire set below it's western wall. Smoke and water damage was extensive as well as the loss of tooling and shop fixtures. Also severely damaged was the Regal Beagle bar next door. Authorities believe the incident was the 17th in a string of fires set by the so called "Kit's Firebug" who has been at work in the area for over a month. Over 40 fire fighters spent 6 hours battling the blaze and miraculously saved the greater part of Ride On's premises. The fire was the most destructive so far set by the arsonist having done over 100 thousand dollars in property damage.
Although this is a major setback for the folks at Ride On spirits remain high in the face of adversity. Ride On's loyal and dedicated staff are now diligently wrenching under a series of tarp's set up outside in the driveway. Rain or shine they are out there looking after customer's bikes and keeping the machine rolling despite tool shortage's and poor weather.
