| 08/24/2001 | Kryptonite Corporation Purchased by Ingersoll-RandKryptonite Corporation of Canton, Massachusetts has been bought by Ingersoll-Rand for an undisclosed sum of money. Kryptonite was founded back in 1972 and manufactures portable locks for bicycles, sporting goods, laptop computers, and their flagship product has been U-shackle locks.
Ingersoll-Rand is an industrial holding involved in security, climate control and industrial equipment, with brands like Thermo King (mobile refrigeration equipment), Bobcat (compact bulldozers), Schlage (residential locks), Torrington industrial bearings and Ingersoll-Rand (compressors, diesel injection pumps, marine engines etc.).
