| 09/11/2001 | Campagnolo Introduces a Carbon Fiber Record CranksetAfter introducing their carbon fiber Hyperon wheels at the Eurobike show, Campagnolo has introduced something that, although had been rumored, seemed not to be ready this year: The carbon fiber Record Crankset.
This new product is 135 g lighter than the aluminum Record set. Campagnolo wants to end the discussion about what grouppo is the lightest avalaible. Now it is clear that the Record is far ahead of the competitors at this point. The Italian brand also promises improvements in stiffness.
Campagnolo will start shipping the first units in October, the way they will be ready in the shops by November. The American market will receive units almost as soon as the European, because the folks at Vicenza have set a lot of hopes in the States, as the last two years have been great for Campagnolo there.
