| 09/19/2001 | 2002 USA Cycling Mechanics ClinicCheck out the 2002 USA Cycling Mechanics Clinic, which takes places Jan. 10-13, 2002, at the U.S. Olympic Training Complex in Colorado Springs.
The three-day clinic is open to folks who already have at least two years working experience as a bicycle mechanic. Topics slated to be discussed include team support for road and mountain, neutral support for road and mountain, track support, frame materials and design, wheel theory and design, tubular gluing, bicycle wash and inspection, wheel changes and much more.
In its 14th year, the clinic remains the training ground for many current and former professional race mechanics in the U.S. racing community. Instructors are experts in their field from companies such as GT, Sachs, Shimano, Mavic, USA Cycling, Park Tool Co., Wheelsmith and many others.
The cost of the clinic, which includes housing, meals, instruction and a clinic handbook, is $290. Space is limited to 50 participants and is on a first-come first-served basis. The deadline is November 9, 2001.
