VUELTA EXPANDS VIEWERSHIP
The last edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a España, which finished last Sunday with a win by Spaniard Angel Casero, was watched on TV by close to 30 millions viewers, for at least one minute, according to research conducted by Zenith Media. A total of 19.9 million habitual fans watched at least 15 minutes of some stage. Some 9.5 million of riders that are not regular fans like housewives, followed the race for at least 1 minute. The research shows that there is great interest, especially in the mountain and time trial stages, even with the absence of great stars like Miguel Indurain in the past or Lance Amstrong in the presence. In the 2000 edition, there were 28.5 million spectators registered, with 19.4 of those considered habitual fans.www.Infociclismo.com
