Giant Bicycle Launches 2002 Line

10/15/2001
The newest bicycle design is the Prodigy, a statement in forward-looking style and performance. With a sleek extruded aluminum frame, integrated headlight and rear rack, the Prodigy looks right at home among the high-fashion Sport Utility vehicles of today. Designed with front and rear suspension, the ride is like no other bike on the road or trail. (See photo attached.)

Giant continues to enhance its winning line of road bike designs. New to the Giant lineup is the OCR Elite model of road bikes. Designed for the rider who wants racing bike speed with increased comfort, the geometry of the Elite is more upright, with a longer wheelbase and larger tires for more stability. Perfect for the baby boomer that wants a comfortable high performance machine.

The ultra-lightweight road bikes of the TCR (Team Compact Road) line weigh in as low as an astonishing 17 pounds, and are the same bikes that are ridden in the world's toughest bicycle races, including the Tour de France.

The fully suspended NRS (No Resonance System) mountain bike design, developed in conjunction with Renault Formula 1 suspension engineers, propels the top mountain bike riders of the world up dirt tracks, and down the most difficult rock-strewn trails that nature has to offer. The rest of Giant's mountain bike lineup brings tried and true designs to the rigors of off road bicycle riding.

Comfortable urban bikes are a mainstay of the Giant bicycle line. The Sedona, Cypress and Simple lines of bicycles provide comfort and performance like never before. Features start with fully suspended unisex step-through frames all the way down to the ultra-lightweight Simple beach cruisers.

The final innovative introduction for 2002 is the Halfway folding bicycle. Smaller wheels and a sturdy click-and-fold coupler allow this bike to be stored in a closet, RV, boat or office. Perfect for short trips to the store or workplace, the Halfway has proven itself in Europe and Japan, and is now available in the United States.

From Sport Utility Bike designs to kids mountain bikes and everything in between, Giant Bicycle is leading the cycling revolution. Retail prices on adult models start at $220 ranging up to $4000.
