| 03/26/2001 | Nation Bicycle Summit UnderwayBicycle advocates, bicycle industry executives, key legislators and government officials are meeting this weeking in Washington DC to discuss initiatives and policies facing bicyclists including: Accommodations, Safety, Health, Environment, Intermodalism, Ridership Goals, Smart Growth, Access, Recreation, and Direction for the 21st Century.
The National Bike Summit is sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists in partnership with Bikes Belong Coalition, the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, Rails to Trails Conservancy, International Mountain Bicycling Association, The Thunderhead Alliance, and National Center for Bicycling and Walking. The Summit will provide opportunities to exchange ideas, set priorities and goals, establish new working relationships and develop an agenda with a new Administration, Congress, and state and local legislators and officials.
