| 12/06/2001 | Selle Italia is coming out with a new concept that will change your idea on bicycle saddles. This new technology adopts a hydraulic system integrated inside the saddle rail and on the sitting surface. The rail is made from a "carbon composite" for light weight and its regity. This rail is assembled on the shell through real hydraulic suspension devices connected to a microcircuit containing a specific fluid that has property of been high compressible and viscous. Between the shell and their Flex Control padding there is a system that adopts a series of small chambers with same fluid of the rail device.
The bones that contact the seat (ischiatic bones) are therefore sitting on a insert that increases the comfort. Competing systems that use standard polyurethane, anatomical bumps, or gel insert are surpassed with this new system. The shell is designed with a tubular concept to maximize the shock absorbing caused by the road vibrations. The saddle is covered with a new type of full grain “nabuk" leather that feels much softer and comfortable compared to traditional leather. www.selleitalia.com
