| 01/24/2002 | The Hoffman Sports Association announced today that Best Buy, North America's number one specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software and appliances, will be the presenting sponsor of Mat Hoffman's 2002 Crazy Freakin' Bikers (CFB) Series.
Beginning its third year, the 2002 CFB Series is a three-part bicycle stunt competition and enthusiast gathering that qualifies riders to the EXPN Invitational events and the X Games. Amateur and professional riders, will be able to compete in four categories: Dirt, Flat, Park and Vert or Half-Pipe. Professionals will compete for $87,000 in prize money.
Nearly 15,000 people attended the 2001 CFB Series and more than
5.3 million people viewed the series on ESPN and ESPN2. "We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Best Buy on several other projects and are excited about Best Buy's involvement in the CFB Series," said Steve Swope, director-Hoffman Sports Association. "The Best Buy-CFB relationship will add to the success of the series and is a perfect fit to our growing organization. We are working with Best Buy on some special on-site activities that will make the CFB's even more fun and exciting than in 2001 for competitors and fans alike."
