| 02/05/2002 | Matt Hanson has come up with a novel way to convert your mountain bicycle intor a downhill racer or cross-country snow bike. Now that he has the design refined he is trying to create a new competitive sport that will put riders head to head racing on the snow. Matt is working to perform a demo at ESPN's Winter X Games in Aspen in January to promote the sport.
The conversion kit starts at $200 and only takes ten minutes to install. This is much less than the main competitor K2 that sells a dedicated snow bicycle for $850. Currently 30 US resorts allow for snow bicycles to be used on their slopes.
