| 02/11/2002 | Razor is on top again this year at the Toy Industry Association's (TIA) 2002 American International Toy Fair in New York -- the largest toy trade show in the Western Hemisphere. The trendsetting toy manufacturer's air-powered pogo stick, Airgo(TM) is up for the show's Toy of the Year award, a prize Razor USA won in 2001 for its wildly popular Razor(TM) scooter. Occupying booth #5803 in the Javits Convention Center from February 10-14, Razor will unveil several new pavement-shredding breakthroughs that introduce pro shop quality products to sporting goods and mass market outlets nationwide.
"When it comes to skateboards and bikes, parents and kids had to go to expensive pro shops if they wanted top quality and performance," said Razor USA president and founder Carlton Calvin. "But not anymore. With Razor's trademark design and durability as our calling card, we've created a new line of cool, affordable products that finally bring pro shop quality to kids and adults that love and trust the Razor brand."
Here are some of the exciting new products Razor USA will unveil at the American International Toy Fair: Squeeze Urbanites, college kids and all-around hipsters will get a kick out of Squeeze, Razor's efficient, single-speed freewheel drive compact bicycle. Comfortable, lightweight and stylish, this get-around-town bike's patented space-saving technology enables it to fold down fast, creating a useful handle that makes it easy to hoist into most car trunks and apartment closets, with plenty of room to spare. Suggested retail price for Squeeze: $179.
Boost This tough, lightweight bike complements Razor's new line of high-quality BMX bikes, Siege and Launch. Boost has all the basic features of a BMX racing bike, but is priced with the neighborhood rider in mind. Available in silver and gloss blue, Boost has aluminum alloy rims, V-type brakes, 44-16 gearing, 5mm front and back dropouts and a drop-nose saddle. Suggested retail price for Boost: $129.
Sidewalk Bikes: Kicker 12 and Kicker 16 "My first bike" is no longer the flimsy bike with plastic training wheels that keep bending. Razor's Kicker 12 (12" wheels) and Kicker 16 (16" wheels) are beefy mini-BMX-style bikes designed to be handed down through the family. Featuring TIG welded frames, heavy-duty training wheels and easy-to-learn coaster brakes, these are a great way to kickstart a first ride on two wheels. Suggested retail price for Kicker 12: $69, Kicker 16: $79.
Razor Jr. Now little ones who've been envying the big kids' Razor scooters have one they can call their own. With Razor Jr., Razor has made riding a scooter fun and easy for children six and under. Razor Jr.'s larger, three wheel design makes for a more stable ride and the super slip-resistant deck keeps kids on their little toes. They're sure to enjoy the fun blue, pink, red and green colors too. Suggested retail price for Razor Jr.: $49.
"It's Razor's mission to take classic products that are good, wholesome fun and make them widely-available for a new generation of consumers that demand high quality and beautiful design," said Calvin. "This year's line-up of cool products gives more people than ever the opportunity to get on a Razor and bring out the kid inside."
Razor USA always advocates safety and recommends riders wear the proper safety gear (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) while using its products. Razor USA's newest products will be available at quality retailers in spring 2002. www.razorusa.com
