| 02/19/2002 | The University of Colorado Cycling Team, one of the premier collegiate cycling teams in the country, is holding their annual Ride-a-thon on Saturday, February 23, 2002. Members of the team will be riding a 100-mile loop between Boulder and Fort Collins, leaving at 9:00 am from Beatnik's Bagels at 28th and Pearl in Boulder.
The Ride-a-thon is an annual fund-raising event, and the primary fundraiser for the team. The goal is to raise funds for the Team's 2002 Spring racing campaign. Through donations from friends, families, sponsors and local businesses, the CU Cycling Team raises money for racing fees, club activities, coaching and travel to and from races, including the National Collegiate Championships May 10-12 in Burlington, Vermont.
The CU Cycling Team sponsors include: Voler (clothing), Trek (bicycles), Rudy Project (glasses), University Bicycles and Cutting Edge Sports (technical support/shop work), Clif Bar (energy bars), Cycle-Ops (stationary trainers) and E-Caps (nutritional supplements).
