PBO Spokes
Spinergy has continued to improve upon their
wheelsets for 2001 by utilizing PBO fiber technology that increases strength
and stiffness. The new PBO fiber technology allows Spinergy to create wheels
with less spokes, higher stiffness and lighter weight than ever before.
When compared to steel, pound for pound PBO has 28 times the break strength
of steel. It also has a much longer fatigue life and superior vibration
damping. A pair of wheels made from PBO weigh 1 pound less per set than
steel spoked wheels. This allows Spinergy to create wheels which are lighter,
but without sacrificing strength or durability.
The Xaero road wheelset has it all - superior aerodynamics,
incredibly light weight and the unmatched vibration damping and improved
handling of PBO fiber spokes, 16 front/20 rear. The force 10 rear hub
design features 10 drive spokes and far greater torsional stiffness than
the competition. The Swiss made hubs with X-change alloy freehub that
is interchangeable between Shimano 8/9 and Campagnolo 9/10 speed with
optional Campy freehub kit. The 30mm aero profile rim have a machined
brake track for improved braking corntol.
The rims are available in black, yellow or blue spokes with black hubs
and rims. Skewers and wheelbags included. Suggested selling price is $275
for the front and $424 for the rear.
