| 02/14/2002 | As some companies are starting to downsize there sponsorship role in the arena of bike racing, K2 Bikes has decided to increase it’s funding due to the tremendous success of it’s current programs and sponsorship.
Team DEVO was a force to be reckoned with this year by capturing the Norba National title in the under 23 cross country and junior cross country. They also captured the under 23 title in cyclocross and went 1, 2 at Collegiate Nationals in the cross country. Several members attended the world championships this year with the team highlight of Adam Craig taking 8th in Zolder, Belgium this past week in Cyclocross. K2 Bike has agreed to sign as a major sponsor of the DEVO cycling team and will continue to support junior and under 23 racing at every opportunity.
K2 Bike has also entered into a sponsorship with the Ford No Boundaries Womens Cycling Team. This team of enthusiastic and fast women are slated to compete in Norba Nationals, World Cup races in cross country and cyclocross events were they will take on the very best. This great team is not just around to win races but to encourage young girls and women to participate in cycling by promoting a positive image of women as athletes; women who are strong, healthy, and happy in mind, body, and spirit. K2 Bikes is pleased to be sponsoring these great racers and role models.
On the pavement K2 Bike has made a big push to find a capable team to deliver their bikes to the finish line. The division III Jittery Joes/ Choco Andean Eco Coffee Cycling Team answered the call with a great lineup of riders and a wonderful cause. Affectionately called "The Bean Team," The Jittery Joes/Choco Andean Eco Coffee Cycling Team is based out of Athens, Georgia and is part of a multi-pronged effort to preserve one of the Earth's most biologically diverse forest networks by the promotion and sales of coffee and by raising awareness through the cycling team.
