| 02/25/2002 | Bicycle manufactures first stated moving production to mainland China in the early 90's. This trend is increasing as regions as Shanghai Municipality and Jiangsu Province have become centers of production for the bicycle industry.
Giant recently annouced that they have set up its branches in Kun Shan. A town adjacent to Kun Shan has become a center of Taiwan's bicycles manufacturers, and so far, more than 40 manufacturers have flocked here.
Sources from the Shanghai Bicycles Industry Association say the total bicycles output of Shanghai is still rising. Last year, the output reached 6.3 million units, up 10% over the previous year. Meanwhile, the exports of bicycles surpassed 3 million units.www.beijingglobe.com
