| 03/02/2002 | The Taiwan component maker Tien Hsin Industries will begin assembly of components in Europe, reports the Bike Europe website. FSA Europe which is owned by Taiwan's Tien Hsin, will begin production of bottom brackets and cranksets in northern Italy at the end of this year or early in 2003.
Tien Hsin will begin its assembly work with bottom brackets and later they expect to begin to assemble cranksets. "We will receive the axle and aluminum parts from Taiwan," said Claudio Marra, Managing Director of FSA Europe, "while the bearings will come from a European supplier. Then we will assemble the parts into a complete BB-unit. In addition to more flexibility, this will give us a savings in transport costs and therefore lower prices for our products." |
