| 03/18/2002 | DuPont State Forest will host an IMBA Trailbuilding School April 5-7. Designed to prepare volunteers to become skilled trail workers and basic crew leaders, the event will combine classroom training, on-trail assessment and trailwork.
Topics will include designing sustainable trails, controlling water flow, building effective trail structures, and routine trail maintenance. Tool safety and advice on organizing productive volunteer trailwork projects will be included
The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew will also participate in a four-day workshop April 1-5, focused on successful techniques for trailbuilding with machines. This is a great opportunity to learn about mechanized trailbuilding from the South's leading experts.
The events are presented by the Blue Ridge Bike Club, North Carolina Parks and Recreation, Friends of DuPont Forest , the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources, Pisgah Trailblazers, Environmental and Conservation Organization, and the Pisgah chapter of the Sierra Club.
