IRC New Tubless
Tires and Rims
IRC claims their new Kujo DH tires use the fastest
downhill tire technology ever developed. By structurally improving the tire
itself they have eliminated the need for an innertube, decreasing the likelihood
of flat tires and bringing down overall rotating weight for lighting quick
acceleration.
Designed specifically for hard or intermediate
conditions, the Kujo DH tubeless incorporates the same motorcycle tread
technology and racer feedback found on the regular Kujo. If you’re a professional
or elite level downhiller, this is the finest rubber you can own. The wire
bead tire is available in two sizes: 26"x2.25 and 26x2.35. Final weight
has not been released. Retail price is $65.
The Mudmad is a soft-terrain version of the IRC tubeless set-up. This tire
is designed for soft conditions, the Mudmad DH features a self-cleaning
tread design and MC coil casing. The wire bead tire is available in 26"x2.25
and the weight has not been released. Retail price is $65.
They have also released two rims to go with this tubeless technology. When
used in conjunction with IRC tubeless tires it will make for a a light,
dependable DH wheel set up. Available in 32 or 36 hole. Disc or rim brake
specific. This rim is also compatible with standard tube/tire systems. Retail
price is $139.
