| 08/01/2002 | | Rumors of K2 Bike’s new full suspension platform were confirmed by the few witnessing the 2003 catalog photo shoots for the all-new TIRADE. The 2003 K2 Tirade grabs the baton carried earlier by the highly successful EVO frame and runs away. "The Tirade will build on our full-suspension heritage, and add a huge range of adjustability that we are calling Broadband Travel," explains Skip Reys, K2 Bike’s marketing and product development director. "With travel setttings that will mirror those offered by the current front suspension crop, the rider will have the ability to select four, five or six inches in both the front and rear, for a balanced ride. Real world practice dictates that the rider will not adjust their suspension fork to 3.75 inches if it offers the three and four inch increments-and the infinite positioning between. We found that a person will peg the travel at four or three, and let it rip. To lockstep with this practice, the Tirade’s rocker links will look a little different than the other offerings. The eccentric positioning of the shock mount will deliver these most popular travel settings." www.k2bikes.com
