| 08/16/2002 | Intense rains have flooded a big part of Central Europe during this week. The rain has caused a lot of damage , especially in Germany and Czech Republic, creating a situation of real disaster for the citizens of these locations.
Six volunteers from our Czech Republic factory, located in the city of Karvina, have left this morning direction to Caske Budejovice to give support to the rescue services. This location has been one of the places where the flood has caused more damages.
Mr. Radek, Executive of Human Resources Department in this factory, is leading the team and will discuss with local authorities about the help that our employees can offer. A part from this six brave young men, there are also 15 other Shimano volunteers standby.
Moreover, Shimano has decided to donate 10.000 euro that will go through the Karvina town hall. This money is especially meant for cleaning and reconstruction needs. We hope it can be useful.
