| 10/10/2002 | Ten bicycle groups have been awarded NORBA/IMBA Trail Tune-Up Grants. The 2002 NORBA/IMBA Trail Tune-Up grant winners are:

* Shenandoah Mountain 100 Mile Backcountry Mountain Bike Race, Harrisonburg, VA - Race organizers will work with the Shenandoah Mountain Bike Club to improve trails on this popular single-loop race course.
* Reno Wheelmen, Reno, NV - A partnership between the Wheelmen, a junior ski program, and Nevada freeriders will create new downhill and cross-country trails at city-owned Sky Tavern Ski Resort, a popular race venue near Reno.
*Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers, San Luis Obispo, CA - The group will increase its public education and outreach with bike shop informational kiosks. San Luis Obispo is home to the collegiate racing powerhouse Cal Poly Wheelmen.

Funding for the Trail Tune-Up program comes from NORBA members who contribute to a land access fund when they purchase or renew their NORBA racing licenses. NORBA and IMBA have been working together for 15 years to support responsible racing and training on sustainable trails.www.usacycling.org
