Burley Now Offers Road and Commuter Bicycles

04/06/2003
Burley Design Cooperative, U.S. manufacturer of bicycle trailers, expands their existing product line of trailers, trailercycle, tandems, recumbents and cycling rain gear to include two high-end road bicycles and two bicycles made specifically for commuting.

“As we approach our 25th year in the industry," General Manager Matt Purvis said, “we’re proud to offer our dealers and loyal customers two road bikes and a commuter bike made with the same Burley quality and value we are known for."

“We view the transfer of our 15 years of experience making tandems to the single bike market a natural step," Purvis said. “Our new bicycles, made from chromoly steel, offer unique styling and attention to detail for those enthusiasts who want a boutique-level bicycle at an affordable price."

The high-end, steel road bikes are named Wolf Creek and Fox Hollow after local rides. The two models of the commuter bike, named Runabout, each equipped with disc brakes, one with an internal hub and the other with traditional derailleur. This bicycle is made especially for commuting to and from work, school and riding around town.

All these Burley bicycles feature a new “B" head badge stylized after the original Burley logo created 25 years ago when the cooperative was formed. They also don a new Burley down tube decal.

“The new head badge reflects our roots and the success we have had over the years. The stylized down tube decal treatment suggests a forward motion of bicycles and our cooperative," Bike Product Manager Todd Bishcoff said.
