| 03/31/2004 | HONE is Shimano’s new component groupset for care-free bike fun in the mountains. It combines the advantages of our cross country groups with the heavy duty solutions of the Saint components. The result is a very rigid, high damage resistance group for all circumstances that ensures lots of fun without worries about your gear- and brake-systems. For those who like extreme freeriding, Saint is still the perfect choice.
Of course also HONE is developed using HOLLOWTECH II technology, as in all our other high-end mountain bike groups. It brings a lot of extra rigidity for riding in challenging rough terrain with jumps without the need to worry about your components.
No more broken rear derailleur hangers! HONE carries the proven hub axle mount system introduced last year in the Saint group. Also a set of powerful disc brakes is included. Standard version has a 203mm rotor and standard size Center Lock mount system. A 160mm rotor is available as an option. HONE Dual Control Levers allow fast and ergonomic shifting. The combined shift/brake- levers are always within reach of your fingers without the need to loosen your grip on the handlebar. The Center Lock compatible hubs have been developed with a high rigidity axle.
HONE components have a powerful, sharp edged design in black with some silver details. The group will be available at a very attractive price level.
HONE will be available in the market from November 2004.
