Ok first off i would like to say that this bike is built very well, good looking minus all the decals, and i have had no problems with the bike so far. I have owned the bike for 1 month so far and i have used the bike for transportation, trail riding and mountain biking, mostly mountain biking. I go a couple of times every week and the bike holds up perfectly. Secondly before you buy this bike or any other bike off of Amazon you need to have some tools already or plan to buy the tools. You need at a minimum a wrench, socket wrenches, hex wrenches, pliers, and a screw diver with different size heads. I will assume that you have bought each of these in a set you that you have a choice of different sizes. I want to address the price issue with this bike. These bike are sold a low cost because they will come partly disassembled about 20%, and you need to put it together and may have to adjust the brake lines or gear lines. These bikes are not meant to be ridden right out of the box. If you just want to buy a bike and ride it 1 minute later then I suggest paying the extra money and going to your local bike store to buy the bike. The bike stores receive there bikes the same way you purchase the bike off of amazon but they take the time to put it together completely and make sure everything works properly so you can ride the bike off the lot. Thats why they command a higher price for the bike, its not that the bikes off of amazon are of any less quality but that they are not ready ride out of the box.
For the Honda Dual suspension bike assembly, out of the box, I had to put the front wheel on, the seat, the pedals and the handle bars. This was all very easy and even my little 12 year old brother could do it. That is it. Everything else was put together. As for the other posts about pedals breaking, it is possible that they may have not properly or completely tightened the pedals. I am 60" and weigh 190 pounds the pedals are very sturdy and hold my weight just fine. Also you can adjust the seat and handle bar height to your comfort level.
Before you ride any bike even from a bike store, you should always go home and double check all the screws and make sure they are tight, that only keeps you safe, never ride a bike without doing that.
As for the commit about the derailing of the bike chain and ripping of the shifter out of his hands. My bike need to have the gears and brakes adjusted correctly. This was pretty easy the manual that came with the bike explained how to adjust the gears. If you dont properly adjust the gears before you ride it is possible that they gears will derail off the back spokes and catch between the wheel and the top gear, this will cause the tire to lock up, and you could be seriously injured. But this can happen with any bike out there not just amazon bikes. So please check the gears and adjust them yourself or go to a bike shop and do so yourself.
Lastly the cheap cost of these bikes comes with a catch, you must put the bike together and you must make sure to tighten the screws and make sure the gears and brakes are properly aligned. If you are not up to doing this and saving yourself about 100 dollars extra on a bike from a bike store or 50 dollars for putting the bike together by your bike shop do not buy this or any other bike from amazon.
Pros:
Good ride
Great price
Dual suspension
Cons:
Seat was a little hard, but that is my preference only
Put the bike together ( though pretty easy and worth the cost savings)

I bought 2 of these one for each child for what I perceived was a great deal $ 69.00 from Toy r us last year they lasted all of 3 weeks the hardware is simply horrible. and they are not worth repairing. I am taking off the little worn tires and will salvage them the rest will be recycled. it was a very good learning expierience. What looks good is not necessarily so ! On: 2006-03-20

i needed a bike to rely on to get me to work on time... this was not that bike. while riding the rear gears got mangled from going over a small curb the shock twisted it out of shape, but not before the right grip shifter shattered while shifting down. the cable just ripped out of the shifter and plastic had to be brushed out of my hand. Caution potential buyers. Although this bike has the Honda name on it, it is not a Honda product. Its an official licensed product, made by the company Cycle Source Group. So if you are a Honda purist, you might be dissapointed.
This bike comes partially disassembled. Though the assembly is not hard, the directions in the manual were slighty confusing. The HR-260 is a lot of bike for its price but it does not live up to the Honda name. My pedal broke in less than 2 weeks of riding the bike. The seat is also very hard, so Id suggest getting a gel seat. Finally, the steering tube is not sealed, so its begining to rust inside.
Bottomline is, I am not completely satisfied with the bike. There were some parts which could be better but considering the price, I got what I paid for. On: 2005-08-11

This is a great full size adult mountain bike. 21 speed, dual suspension, nice paint scheme, and the quality seems great. The frame is very sturdy but is on the heavy side in terms of weight. The rear suspension and swing arm look very trick and do their job well. The only problem I had was the seat - its too hard on the arse. I went ahead and bought a gel seat to fix this problem.
Since the bike is from Honda Racing, the bike is splattered with race inspired motorcycle stickers all over the frame. Im not a big fan of flashy objects so I promptly removed all of the stickers and just left the big Honda Racing decal on the front downtube.
For the price (bought the bike for $114), it was a bargain and the best bang for the buck. I shopped around online and visited the local bike shops and sporting goods store and the cheapest mountain bike I found was for $159 - and that bike didnt even have a full suspension system.
Strongly recommending the Honda 26 Dual Suspension bike for casual and pedestrian bicyclist looking for a regular bike to both tool around town and in the mountains.
Pros:
- Price is a bargain
- dual suspension
- 21 speed
- some assembly required
Cons
- too many racing decals
- seat is too hard
- overall weight is on the heavy side
- some assembly required On: 2004-12-27
