![]() EasySeat, Adjustable pads Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 7 More Information I'm sold on it. After trying several seats, including the ISM Touring saddle, I have settled on this seat and used it for over a year now. It does take a few rides of getting used to, and it felt like I might slide off the front of the seat initially, but now Id never go back to a traditional seat. Because there is no forward-facing horn I find that can shift around on the seat a little on long rides to ease any discomfort from sitting in the exact same place for extended periods. I have not experienced any numbness in the perineum since using this seat (this seat does not touch the perineum area). Esy Seat The delivery of the easy seat was even quicker than anticipated. The item arrived in good condition and well packaged. I have found the easy seat most comfortable and simple to set up. I would recommend this seat to all who enjoy cycling. A Tailbone - and especially Male - Lifesaver This seat is wonderful! I have used one for five years. I ride regularly in a variety of conditions. I have fairly well developed arthritis, and hip bone spurs - and I would have given up riding a long time ago if it were not for this seat. Ive tried many of the traditional seats, heavily padded seats, and the split back version of the traditional seat. This seat is so much better because of no center obstruction. It spreads your weight over two cheeks. It does not have that center piece of a regular seat - that inevitably numbs the male genitals no matter how hard you try to avoid it. It takes a little getting used to, but I find that some avoid it because it just doesnt "look like" a bike seat. For me, functionality and comfort are far more important than looks. It is awful I bought this seat years ago and after sitting on it for a few seconds took it off, it hurt and didnt fit right. I cant imagine anyone but some super skinny short person using it, but even then its a hard seat. Not All That Easy After reading glowing reviews of Easyseat I was most anxious to try it. After 50 miles of constant adjustments, Im ready to give up. I ache in places I didnt ache previously. Im sore in places that werent sore before. I average 40-50 miles per week, and the Easyseat is causing that average to drop drastically. I cant suffer more than 8 miles per ride with this mis-named product, and Im forced to skip every other day because of the soreness. Im trying to be patient and give the seat every chance to live up to the glowing reviews. My patience is wearing thin. Eased My Seat I had tried several "comfort" seats, some with splits, some with gel and I was still experiencing severe discomfort. The problem was bad enough that I went to my doctor. I was ready to quit riding when I ordered the Easy Seat. I have to admit that it took about 25 miles until I was completely comfortable. I now have well over a thousand miles on it and I couldnt be happier. I no longer experience any discomfort. I quickly adjusted to riding with no hands with the Easy Seat. The seat has held up very well. Easy Seat a disappointment I ordered the Easy Seat and used it for several days. If one is only interested in easing pressure on the nerves and arteries of the perineum, then one can be reasonably satisfied, for the product certainly accomplishes this. Early on however, it became apparent that if one removes ones hands from the handlebars, especially while peddling, it is nearly impossible to balance the bike. Apparently, one needs to apply subtle pressure through the inner thighs to the horn of the saddle in order to maintain balance. Of course, the Easy Seat has no horn. In addition, no matter how tightly I fastened the thumb screws to separate the pads, they would invariably come together. I am convenced that the osillating motion of the pads as one peddles, and the friction this generates, requires more effort from the rider to propel the bike. I have retired the Easy Seat and replaced it with a split saddle which seems to solve the perineal pressure problem. What looked good on paper proved a disappointment in practice. |
