![]() Marwi Nightpro Kamikaze Bicycle Head Light By: Marwi Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 1 More Information Great Halogen Light Hits: Tremendous amount of light, great dollar value, easily mounted and removed Misses: Connector easily comes apart, heavy battery I love my LED lights. I really do. But when I want to light up the road, give me this halogen light any time. The light mounts to the handlebar using an innovative adjustable quick-release clamp, and the high-beam button attaches with a velcro strap. The battery fits in a full-size water bottle cage, with a fully strain-relief cord with ample length to reach the light. On my mountain bike, I never had an issue with this cord, but on my road bike, I use a velcro cable tie to secure the end of the cord to the top tube; otherwise the coiled cord pulls against the connector and it disconnects. No big deal, I just think you should know the down side. With a three hour run time on low, this light might seem a bit short by modern standards, but if youre only out for 30 to 60 minutes per day in the dark, thats not an issue. There is some controversy on the web about over-discharging or over-charging the 6 Ampere-hour battery. I just play it safe, run the battery down and then immediately turn it off, then take it off the charger shortly after its fully charged. And that leads me to my last caveat: unlike more recent lights, it does not have a low battery indicator. It will go full strength and then...poof. Pitiful glow that wouldnt attract a moth. So, if you are likely (or inclined) to run the battery down, be sure to have a spare light source. |
