![]() SIGMA SPORT FIT WATCH HEART RATE MONITOR By: Sigma Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 6 More Information Used to love it, now I hate it I used to own a Sigma Sport that I used continuously and loved. Inexpensive, very functional. After 2 years, I jumped into a lake and it died. Oh well, after 2 years I felt I got my money out of it, so I bought a new one. It didnt work brand new out of the box. Gave me HR 60 or 65 -- regardless of whether I had the chest strap on. I know the chest strap was working because the correct HR was showing on my old Suunto HR watch. So I replaced the battery. Still didnt work. Frustrating!! So, given the watches are fairly cheap and functional, I bought another one. Same problem. So, if your new one works, you will probably love it. If it comes like my last 2 did, you will most certainly hate it. Like gambling? Buy this watch or go to Vegas ! Excellent Product!! I train hard about 6 times a week, and this monitor is what I was looking for, great features and amazing quality!!! Recommended! Great HRM for the money I had to replace the batteries on my Polar S410, but after adding up all the fees Polar charges, it added up to ~$70. For that kind of money, I figured I could get a new HRM. After a little research, I found this watch. Functionally, its phenomenal, but the instruction manual is not logically laid out. When you read the directions on how to set the watch, skip forward a few pages beyond the initial section to find out what buttons are A, B, + and - (youll know what Im talking about once you get the watch). So far, I find this watch to be better than the Polar from both a functionality standpoint and from a cost standpoint. Added bonus with this watch is you can change the batteries yourself and it works with the equipment at my gym. My favorite Heart monitor descriptions usually focus on their many features. For me, whats most important is how well they work, and for how long. I always use a heart monitor when I bike, jog and hike in the mountains. And I have used numerous brands, trying to spend no more than is necessary. Recently I bought a Polar monitor for my bike, because of its sleek (read aerodynamic) appearance and Polars reputation. It was a huge disappointment, requiring that the strap be very tight to read consistently. I ended up using it with a Sigma strap. Then after a year, it became totally inaccurate, even after replacing the battery. Our family now owns several Sigma HRMs, the Fit Watch, being my favorite, due to its features. The Sigma monitors we own all have one thing in common: they work, even with the chest strap on very lightly. Of course, you have to moisten the sensor area or use conduction gel when you first put it on, as with any other. I have had the chest strap on so loosely while riding my bike that it came apart when I hit a bump, yet continued to read (just held in place by my jersey) for the half mile or so it took me to find a place to pull over and reconnect it. The feature I like most is the "traintime" session that can be set to automatically start at a chosen heart rate, then divide and record your session into "health, fitness and performance zones," measure calories burned, record average and maximum heart rates, and provide the option to record and monitor a 5-minute recovery time. All I do is push a button to turn it on, and when my heart rate reaches 115 (my choice) it starts a session. When Im done I stop it and review. And it has, so far (approx. 1 year), worked flawlessly every time. is excellent I bought one recently and is excellent, it has what I need, I put it in my bicycle and gives the readings very well, I use of 2 to 3 hours daily and I have not had any problem, I am very happy with it, and the price is the best comparing it with the polar ,is excellent, I love it It works only 20-30 % of the time Im having problems with this heart rate monitor from day one. When Im on my bike it maybe works 20-30% of the time. If you move a little bit in your bike it stops working at all or it tells you that your heart rate is only 36(!) when youre working like crazy!!! One time it kept showing me 500!!! Get anywhere near power lines and reception gets screwed up. It was extremely frustrating to use. Very disappointed. |
