Nice concept, disappointing execution.

Great idea. You can even forgive that this was shot from a car, at a cars speed and in the car lane. What doesnt make any sense is the frequently inserted still shots, cutaways to a sunset in the middle of a day ride and cameras pointed behind the car.

Also the sound track was not selected to help with pedaling cadence. It seems like randomly selected royalty free tracks that range from classic to ragtime. Yes, you read that correctly, ragtime.

Bike-O-Vision

I used these when they were VHS format - am very excited that they are available now in DVD format. They are great for keeping up your interest when using exercise machines. Perfect for cycling, treadmill, elliptical etc. Love the scenery. Never gets tiring or old. Makes me wish I could be in these places "in person". But this is the next best thing.

Super Virtual Rides for Spinning!

I love to cycle and I have to say this dvd of the California coast is just beautiful, especially the section along Big Sur. I love the music too. The dvds are really great compliments to indoor cycling workouts because the view of "forward motion" keeps you wanting to push ahead instead of slack off. I ended up getting all fourteen dvds and use them daily. Best investment Ive made other than my stationary bike. There are so many scenic rides I never get bored. I really appreciate the lack of distracting commentary, not seeing other cyclists in the screen, and graphics found in other DVDs of this sort.

UPDATE: I got the 2005 version of this dvd ride which I loved, so I went back and just got the 2007 updated version that just came out this December- advertised on their website - which is even better than the first version. Keep them coming.

Great Video for cycling workouts

Great Video! I have the entire set of fourteen videos and use them for daily cycling workouts. There are so many scenic rides youll never get bored again!

Worth less than one star!!!

This DVD came in a case that looks like a bootleg DVD. It also smelled terribly of cigarette smoke as if it was made in someones basement. To top it all off, the DVD was blank! Needless to say, I returned it. I would suggest Amazon find another supplier before they are ripped off again. Unfortunately, I cant comment on the content.

Who works out to soothing classical music?

Not only that, but like one other reviewer said, the camera work is lousy. I wanted this to feel like I was pedaling along a beach. Most of the camera angles are not what you would see pedaling along a beach, much is on a golf course, and theres a lot of stopping. What is that about? I dont want a still picture for cycling, and I want some lively motivational music, not a lullaby. Dont waste your money.

BORING

This DVD doesnt do the scenery justice. All you see is road, road and more road. I imagine the driver and camera person in a beat-up old RV, taking videos and never leaving the vehicle to explore. Even when they pull off into a viewing area it is just to let a car pass, and the full scene never comes into view. The camera angle rarely changes and through much of the ride all you see are roads and trees.

Excercising in my home-paradise

Paradise.. I can excercise in my home - on my own time - see exotic foreign places and listen to really good music at the same time. Bike-o-vision has answered my prayers- Its really reasonably priced and satisfies me physically and emotionally. A wonderful way to excercise-Thank you Bike-o-vision!
