Best Product To Raise the Bars     On: 2007-02-11

As with any clich type clamp, it will hold with minimal torque. Therefore if you strip it, you dont know what you are doing and have gone far beyond the intended torque. You simply tighten it to where it is gripping solidly and cant be moved by twisting your handlebars while holding the tire, and then tighten it a bit beyond that. Mine is solid as a rock and it is no more or less likely to strip than the other components on my bike that are aluminum alloy (many).

I enjoy the new position of my bars and it is black like my bars and stem and looks nice.

GREAT STEM RISER-When you need one to jack-up those too-low mountain bike
handlebars!

BEEFY CONTRUCTION-Cast from one solid piece of aluminum!

SUPER FINISH-Black anodizing shines like a diamond & is durable too!!!

HOWEVER-I have owned many of the riser and they are always the same.
The mounting bolts (included) tend to strip-out.

The mounting bolts included & installed in the riser are threaded into the bare aluminum. You tighten these bolts either with a torque wrench OR by the "Armstrong" methood AND they will strip-out!!

If they dont strip upon installation, THEY WILL STRIP while you are riding!!!

Solid solution.     On: 2006-11-04

This is a nicely machined piece with a web in the middle to suspend the steering head pretensioner screw. The clamp is very strong and the whole assembly is very rigid, even with two of them stacked. Topped off with a nice solid threaded allen cap.
