The main value of this cable is not due to the teflon coating but due to the metal they use to produce it. Because of the metal properties the cable doesnt stretch as much as all other bike brake cables I have encountered so far. As a result, with this cable you are capable to stop much quicker than with cables preinstalled on most bikes.
I have used this cable both with V-brakes and disk brakes and in both cases the result is the same, the brakes are more responsive to pressing the brake levers. This effect was more evident with the V-brakes than with the disk brakes though.
The only weakness this cable has is that it is easier to brake by bending it in a half than the ordinary cable. I think if you bend this cable completely at the same place back in forth about 20 times it will break completely at that place. But this is a very unrealistic situation so you shouldnt worry about that.
In addition this cable definitely looks very stylish because of the black color (By the way, this cable is sold WITHOUT a housing).
Get this cable, you wont regret. Highly recommend.
