if small's what you want, these are what you need.     On: 2008-05-13

These are TINY! As others have mentioned, be forewarned before purchase that they are less than half the size of a standard set of panniers. Also, if you live in a rainy place like I do, Id suggest waterproofing these, nylon as they may be.

Regardless - they are EXACTLY what i need for most afternoon non-shopping-related, casual/fun outings. I have a nice, agile bike which needs to be the hybrid that it is - my heavy, grate-style grocery rack makes the bike itself rather clunky and obviously, provides little protection against the elements should I take the bike off the road (now, if someone made a grocery rack that came OFF easily, id be in fantastic shape - then i could just switch between the two when necessary).

These are EXACTLY "day tripper" bags - if all you need to take with you are some snacks, a paperback, an extra layer or two and a digital camera, for example. So if youre looking for some panniers that will haul your textbooks or a bunch of groceries, go for something bigger. If you need the equivalent of a set of small handbags for your bike, cant beat the price. They installed just fine on my Planet Bike rack, too.
Excellent deal for the money     On: 2007-07-19

They were just what I was looking for... a no-frills, light-weight bag that I could get all my work clothes in and more. The only problem that I had was that it didnt include hardware for the rack that was compatible with my bike. After about $2 at the hardware store the problem was solved.

I just sold my bike after upgrading and included the bags as part of the sale, so Im back to get another set. Hopefully theyre still selling them with the rack included.
Really Small     On: 2007-05-23

I just got my panniers in the mail, and I immediately realized Id made a mistake. They are very small bags. I can manage to fit a textbook into one of the bags, but its not a comfortable fit. These are not the bags to go grocery shopping with or commute to work with, at least not for me. My backpack is bigger! - and its a small, woman-sized backpack. There are also no pockets of any kind. Its just one small empty space per bag. They are dinky.
