![]() Jeep Cherokee Scrambler 26-Inch Mountain Bike By: Jeep Bicycle Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 11 More Information you get what you paid for Overall it is OK. but the transmission may need a lot of adjustment work by a shop. The handle is of low quality, not stable at all. Depends on the Rider The fork suspension is soft and not adjustable, the bike feels cramped for a 6 ft adult weight rider, and its heavy. A light, average height rider may find this bike comfortable and the forks OK. If you come off a light modern MTB frame, the weight of this bike is somewhat shocking, but itll certainly cruise and its fast. Disc brakes on front dont really add much stopping torque, surprisingly. Maybe its the weight. For the price, especially on sale, its a nice package. The components are average cheap bike quality, but they work fine. Assembly couldnt be easier if you know anything about bikes. Nice engineering all around. If youre a fairly big guy and are used to lightweight MTB frames, you wont like this bike much. For a fairly disposable full suspension bike, average rider, its fun. Great bike for the price All in all, Im pretty impressed . . . . easy to assemble and very comfortable on the harshest of terrain. Gearshifts and all other moving parts are very smooth. My only complaint is that I broke off a pedal after 4 months of use... I was on a hard trail and I am a big guy, so there was probably an unusually large amount of torque going into it. May want to look into the extra warranty package if you are going to use on hard trails like myself. Jeep Cherokee Scrambler 26-Inch Mt Bike This was a excellent deal. I did not pay for shipment. The bike rides smooth and was easy to assemble. It came almost assembled. The gears do not slip at all. For gears not to slip, you have to make smooth transitions. not worth the price by: Anonymous On: 2007-04-14 the price of this bike was below $190 and there were a couple of reviews before. but amazon deleted it. this makes me feel so bad about amazon. why delete others reviews? Nice Ride by: Anonymous On: 2007-03-28 Glad I bought this bike, It was very easy to finish assembly and rides very smooth. With the price and delivery I dont think you can go wrong. Two thumbs up. Great value entry level bike! by: Anonymous On: 2007-03-14 Im a Jeep enthusiast so I was drawn to the Jeep branded bikes. After reviewing several of the Jeep models, I found this to be a great option for the price. I initially was interested in the AWD Rubicon bike, but after doing some research I found that the bike is too state-of-the-art for its own good. I received my Cherokee Scrambler today after placing the order on Friday. Very fast for free shipping!! Assembly was a piece of cake; the bike was fully assembled within an hour. My only complaint stems from the packaging; there was a protectant cushion on the brake disc, and when peeled off it left sticky residue on the disc. It took about 20 minutes to clean the disc before installing the front tire. After tightening the bike down, I took it out for a quick test spin. Sorry if others have had a bad experience with this bike, but I found it to be wonderful. The ride is smooth, the brakes are responsive, and the gears all shift as expected. I found that when applying extreme pressure to the pedals during rapid acceleration, the rear spring is compressing a bit more than Id like. You may want to tighten the rear spring before taking this bike off-road. If youre a brand-loyal buyer such as myself, buy this bike. If you never ride it, the thing is still worth the price just to look at. Don't waste your money by: Anonymous On: 2007-02-20 Cheap, cheap cheap. Do not purchase this bike. It is cheaply made, and the gears slip. Very pleased. by: Anonymous On: 2006-07-28 This was an awesome deal from Amazon. Free shipping only took 3 days with FedEx and the bike looks/performs great! It came mostly assembled. Only the handlebar, seat, pedals and front tire needed to be attached. Good bike for the money. by: Anonymous On: 2006-05-17 I paid $220 for the red verision with the thumb shifters. Its a well built bike & the disk brake works well when adjusted correctly. however the water bottle mount is useless (it is right above the front tire) when the front suspension compresses it forces the front tire into the water bottle. and the shifters feel cheap. other than those 2 issues I feel it is well worth the money. Awesome price by: Anonymous On: 2006-01-10 I paid 199 here in Amazon having free delivery. I love the bike and is a pretty good deal with a front break disk.
