Not safe for unpopulated back street city parking

I have been using this lock for about 3 years now, and as a general all around lock goes it has served me well...light, easy to carry, I dont use the bike mount, just tie it around my rear bike rack...easy to lock and unlock...the clock key was not impressive...the thing never worked..no biggie...BUT..my old chepap shwinn bike was parked outside my new apartment in a downtown city in Albany, NY...and the next morning..the bike was gone and the lock was hanging there on the post...all locked up...so it must be easy to pick if you have the time with no one watching you for awhile...Neil

good value and performance for a cable lock,

Ive used this exact same lock for about 3or 4 years and never had a bike stolen. My most expensive bike was only worth about $400. TAKE NOTE: I always park someplace with a lot of people around, because any cable lock can be cut with large enough, sharp enough bolt cutters.

No cable lock deserves more than 3.5 stars, but for the money this lock is a super duper value.

Its long enough to lock up three bikes (frames only) or one mountain bike with one wheel next to the other. It doesnt scratch the paint.

Only problem: the plastichousing for the lock mechanism cam loose and rotates, and the end cap came off. the key doesnt turn silky smooth, but its still functional. Be sure to test to make sure its securely loced.

Versatile, easy to use

This is a great product. It is long enough so that I can hook my frame and tire to something like a post, and it rolls into a small and bundle that is easily carried.

The one feature I didnt like is how narrow the carrying clip is. This clip is meant to attach to the bike frame and then attach the chain to it. But the clip is too narrow and it wouldnt fit anywhere on our bikes.

Very Effective for the price

I use this to lock my sons bike in the down stair of our apartment because i have no space inside my apartment to keep it. I works great.

Excellent Value

This lock is light, easy to lock/unlock, comes with 2 extra keyes, and what I like most of all is that it fits into the behind the seat bag.

Worthless for preventing theft

I have had 4 bikes stolen in the last month. After the first theft, I figured this would be a slightly better deterrent than a chain lock (mesh is slightly harder to cut with bolt cutters). Knowing that there is a bicycle theft problem in my area, I only buy bikes worth less than $100. This lock was cut in seconds (I was only away from the bike for a few minutes). Save your money, get a U-Lock that will offer some type of protection.

Good, light, holder is great but very hard spring

The only bad is that the spring for holding the lock when not in use is pretty hard. Rest works great. The light in front of one of the keys is good for dark areas.
