These grips are an excellent upgrade for any mountain bike. Oury has made some of the most comfortable and affordable grips on the market. They rubber is super sticky and Ive havent experience any shift in position even though these grips lack any type of locking mechanism. (just make sure to clean the grip and bars) The soft compound takes much of the shocks and numbing out of normal to moderate all mountaing riding. I also would suggest these to any downhill riders as much as I would any xc or am rider as they have excellent grip even with slightly sweaty hands. Riding with gloves is always safer though, and I would by no means suggest riding without them in all but the easiest of riding. The only negative that I can find about these grips is that they might be a little too big around for individuals with smaller hands, and only then in extreme cases. Despite thier size they still offer great trail feedback as well. All in all you cant go wrong with these grips especially for the price.
