Good to know:
length 33.5 cm, width 17cm, height 40cm (1 in = 2.54cm)
weight 815 gm with spring
Installation took 15 problem-free minutes on a 26" GT Timberline mountain bike, though Im not sure where to put my rear taillight. If you have a compatable taillight, attachments are included. If you dont, theres a mount for a reflector.
I have yet to attach panniers or a basket. Im 63" and hoping that panniers will be able to sit far back and not interfere with my heels. The angle of the bottom stay is *considerably steeper* than I gathered from the picture. I was expecting something along the lines of the more expensive topeak super tourist DX or jandd expedition rack.
The spring rack is not the highest quality and is noisy going over bumps. I wouldve opted for one without the spring if Id bought it in person.
Had I seen it in a store, I might have passed due to the steep rear stay and chincy spring. I cant honestly say whether it is a step up from most other racks because Ive only had it for a week, but I cant say that I wouldve ponyied up twice the price for the other modals with which I was comparing. For $38 (shipping included), I feel its worth investigating. On: 2007-05-13
