good for 20" cruiser bikes     On: 2009-06-12

purchased the brake set for our childs 20" cruiser bike..we only used the front brake...it helps to stop the bike faster...not as sturdy as a mounted front brake, but better than no front brake at all

My reviews are simple and straightforward.

The Good:
* Low cost, excellent value
* Good quality - on par with all the other OEM brakes on cheaper bikes (cost is less than $[...])
* Easily adjustable with a little patience
* Adequate braking power for bicycles

The Bad:
* No instructions. Best check [...] for some general insight
* Moving parts and cables are not lubricated at factory; this is the #1 cause of rust and premature wear

Note: Assembly should only be done by those who KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Im no bike mechanic and I figured it out with a few diagrams from [...]. If the reader is like me, they want maximum performance from their product and make judicious use of oil and grease. NEVER let grease or oil get on the brake surface/pads. Thats bad news.
Surprisingly good for its price     On: 2008-07-31

For the price, you cant beat this. The description said it was mad for a Cruiser/BMX and it fit perfectly on my fiances cruiser that only came with a coaster (pedal) brake. It was big enough to fit over the wheel cover/fender that protects the rider from road debris getting picked up by the tires.

The package is pretty cheap looking, as it comes in a clear plastic back with a piece of folded cardboard on top. Also it had no instructions on how to install it but I figured it out. The product is solid though. So far its held up well but it doesnt stop on a dime, this may change after the rubber on the pads break in a bit. On a cruiser this isnt much of an issue since you wont be riding that fast.

It came with two sets (front and rear) but I only used the front. The picture shows only one brake set, but you get two in the package. The difference is that the front comes with a longer bolt to fit through the fork of the frame, and the rear comes with a longer brake cable.

Pros:
- fits beach cruisers w/ wheel fenders
- comes with both front and rear brake sets
- easy to install
- cheap

Cons:
- no instructions
- cheap packaging
