solid bike lock

Great solid u-lock with a great price. My major obvious complaint is that the key-end of the bar part actually extends out to the point that it cant be mounted in line with your bike top bar or seat bar in the typical fashion. Its hard to put into words but if you look at the picture and imagine it mounted on your bike youll see how the butt of the lock runs into your bike frame. I got mine from Niagara Cycle Works, and they got it to me with impressive speed.

This is a good lock for low crime areas

Ive been using one of these for four years and Im very happy with it. The inner mechanism still works perfectly- I think Ive had to oil it only once. The U-lock style is really easy to get on and off the bike, even in the dark. However, the shackle piece seems kind of inadequate for a high-crime area, (where it may have to stand up to thieves with bolt-cutters). Its only about 1 1/2 inches thick. Medium weight, works well. Overall, I recommend this lock.
