Ive used half-toe clips in the past for friends getting into cycling, but scared of toe clips and bindings. Theyre excellent. This time, I put them on my 7-year olds mountain bike. The half-toes function to keep the rider from sliding off the pedals, allow them to start learning the full pedal stroke and teach the basics of pedal positioning. My son picked it up quickly and loves the secure feel while descending rocky or bumpy trails.
