![]() Chrysler PT CruiserTurbo 7 Men's Cruiser Bike By: PT Cruiser Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 9 More Information A "Sweet" ride but... I just finished a 225 mile ride across Missouri on the KATY trail with this bike. The trail is on an old railway that is mostly flat. The surface is mainly chat covered. The bike made the ride very well. The oversize tires were just right for the surface. The bike is probably a bit heavy for this type of ride. For shorter rides the weight is not an issue. The reason I only give the bike 4 stars is because of two reasons. One, the chain has come off the bike a few times (only once on the KATY ride, but I was only six miles from the end--GRRRRR). I have NEVER had the chain come off my old mountain bike, so this is very frustrating. Second, the gears do not shift very smoothly and the numbers on the shifter do not match up with the gears (shifter shows 3 but it is really in 4). And Yes, I have oiled the gears with DW-40. Another minor issue is with the back brake. It does not easily go back into place after braking. It feels like it continues to press against the wheel a little. I generally avoid using it by mainly using the front brake. Also, I am glad I did not have a flat tire on my trip because getting the tire off would be next to impossible because the brake would keep me from taking it off (it was a "bear" getting the front wheel on when it was shipped to me). I do like the feel of the bike, however. Anyone searching for a sharp-looking bike will be satisfied with this. The bike is definitely retro with its fenders and decals. Be prepared for some laughs from the more "sporty" looking bicyclists. I guess for a $200 product, I expect a bike that shifts more smoothly, keeps its chain on, and brakes better. Rides nice/ Needs a proper setup though. I put the bike together according to the horrible instructions, and fenders rubbed against tires, and brakes inapproriately rubbed wheels at the wrong contact points. I ended up taking this bike to my local bike store, and for $60, they took it apart, greased every nut, screw, and bolt, and corrected the fact that the Chinese manufacturer assembled the partially assembled bike incorrectly (fenders backwards, etc.). Now that the bike is set up properly, I like it very much. Spend the money and get it assembled and set up right from the getgo, and avoid the frustration. Rides nice/ Needs a proper setup though. I agree with the other reviewers about the "instructions." They are indeed worthless, but it isnt too hard to assemble the bike. I completed it in about an hour. The bike has an excellent paint job, and is very comfortable to ride. The seat is comfortable and the handlebars are adjustable. Almost everyone who sees it asks about the bike. It is relatively light and easy to handle. I didnt give the bike four stars because it doesnt come with any useful instructions or illustrations. If it did, I would give it five stars. Once assembled though, the bike is fun to ride! Nice bike This bike is really nice. I agree with the other reviewers about the "instructions." Good experience with one glitch These bikes arrived very shortly after ordering, were exactly what I was looking for and were fairly easy to assemble. The only glitch was that one bike was missing a fender and I didnt know who to contact. This is a Kickin' Flippin' Sweet Bike! I love this bike the reason I am giving it 5 Stars first of all of because the look of it and second of all the handling of it. This Bike rides like a dream I love it. The flame fenders I took off right away because I didnt like the look of those but everything else on the bike is rad! GREAT CRUISER BIKE! -- One of the BEST! A++A++A++ I bought this bike for my boyfriend. He was excited to say the least!!! I already had a mountain bike, and he wanted a bike, so we could ride together. So as a surprise....I ordered the one that he had been "eyeing" (the PT Cruiser Turbo 7)..... He put it together the day after it was delivered!!! He had to do a little adjusting on the gears, but other than that it went together perfectly!!! Couldnt ask for better! And he said it rides "like a dream!" GREAT CHOICE!!! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.....just need someone that knows how to put bikes together --- and he knows just that! Superb Bike by: Anonymous On: 2006-07-08 First off let me start by saying that anyone who remembers fixing bikes as a kid will have NO Problems assembling and adjusting this bike when it arrives! If you have never done this before I recommend using the local bike shop to do it. The bike is SUPERB and rides like a dream. The bearings are top notch and you can stop pedaling and coast a good block PLUS on just the inertia alone (try that with a mountain bike). Shifting is smooth once you get the gears adjusted. The braking at first will cause a bit of squeal noise until the pads seat then you wont hear a thing (I used them sparingly and not harshly the first ten miles until they wore in) This bike is BEAUTIFUL to look at and in just this past week I have been stopped at LEAST 10 times and asked questions about it. I even had a group of mountain bikers stop me and tell me it was a "SWEET" bike. Pedaling is smooth and the frame is very strong (I weigh 285), the seat is VERY comfortable all the time. I have tried over a dozen bikes and This one tops them all . I am also 61" tall so alot of the other so called Cruisers dont cut it against this bike. You wont be dissapointed. Chrysler PT Crusier Turbo 7 Men's 26' Bik I really like this bike. Its great. The only complaint I have is with Amazon.Com Customer Service. The bike came partly assembled. You really should tell customers exactly what they will have to assemble. I put the seat and pedals on. The "quick release" for the front tire was missing from the box. I called customer service and they could not send me one. She said I would have to send the bike back and get a new one. She couldnt even give me the number of the mfg. I was so mad. I didnt want to send the bike back that was too much trouble. I took it to a bike dealer and he put the front wheel on. Chrysler PT Crusier Turbo 7 Men's 26' Bik I really like this bike. Its great. Turbo 7 Cruiser Bike I really like this bike. It feels like a bike from the 50s but with all the modern technology. The look is great and draws a lot of attention. It is somewhat simple to complete the bike since it arrives mostly put together but the assembly instructions are the worst I have ever seen with any product. I basically got no clue from the instructions on how to finish off the bike, it is hard to believe how poorly they are written. I was beginning to believe they sent me the wrong directions. After I got it together through trial and error the brakes and the shifter were way out of whack and I had to spend $30 at a local bike shop to get these items adjusted; the instructions for making the adjustment did not work. The guys at the bike shop took two attempts to get it right (two trips for me) and they were wondering why it was so difficult to adjust. After all that was done I love the bike and it rides nicely and when properly adjusted, shifts and brakes very nicely. The ride is comfortable and I love the seat and location of the handlebars. I would recommend the bike for all the fun and looks it has but be prepared for some hassle to get it right unless you are one of the lucky ones who gets one that is adjusted correctly out of the box. My suggestion is for the manufacture of this bike to fire the idiot who wrote the assembly instructions and hire someone with some writing skills. I also do not understand why the brakes and shifter were so far out of adjustment; did no one test the bike before they boxed it up? Turbo 7 Cruiser Bike I really like this bike.
