Good Bike for Under $200     On: 2007-08-11

The bike took about 20-30 minutes to assemble and adjust. The directions were easy to follow. I had to adjust the break pads which required an allen wrench, so if you dont have the tools consider getting the bike adjusted by a bike shop.

I ride the bike on paved bike paths and have had no issues whatsoever. I havent taken it onto dirt paths or mountain biking trails so I cant comment on its performance in that regard.

If you can purchase this bike under $200 I would highly recommend it.
Great bike for a nice price     On: 2007-08-05

This bike is an excellent buy. My intent was to ride this bike around town (my house is located at the peak of a very steep hill) and have enough gear options to get home to the top of the hill.
I would definately buy this bike again. I know many are probably worried about putting the bike together themselves but I have very little mechanical skills and managed to put the bike together in about an hour. The box and instructions listed the tools necessary to put the bike together (most are simple everyday tools one would find in a toolbox).
Thank you for a great bike at a very affordable price!
Very Nice     On: 2007-04-23

For the price, this bike is a very good deal. Assembly was fairly simple, and the ride is great. Still have to make adjustments, and the seat can be a little hard after a while riding on it. But overall, I like this bike, and I am glad I got it.
Poor quality     On: 2007-04-23

Im afraid that this bike is not worth the price shown. It came half put together and was easy enough to assemble, but it was all down hill after that. The gears shift funny, the seat is uncomfortable, and the suspension could definitely use a lot of improvement. Furthermore, the bike is practically purple. If the bike were still $140 as the other reviews show, then maybe it would be a decent bike for the price, but its not worth what it is going for now. Youre better off picking something up at Target.
Awesome deal     On: 2007-03-08

This bike is great! I took it out through mud, ice, snow and heavy gravel...no problems. Its not that heavy and feels very sturdy which is surprising for a bike of its price...overall, its a great ride for your buck!
I love this bike but...     On: 2007-01-12

I really like this bike. It is my first mountain bike ever and the first time I have ever ordered any bike from Amazon. The one objection noted in my review title refers to the assembly. It does come mostly assembled but I had a friend tackle it and he couldnt even do it. I had to take it to a bike shop and spend an additional $35.00 dollars. So just factor that in. I am glad I bought and would recommend it to anyone especially to a newbie mountain biker like myself. Thanks Amazon!!!
Some issues you might want to consider......     On: 2007-01-06

The bike itself looks great but I had a few issues with it after a couple of minutes riding. First, the handlebars (assembled by myself as per directions) are not in a comfortable position for me to ride in. Second, when the bike came the threads for both pedals were stripped. I needed to to re-bore (?)new holes and get bigger pedals so that the rebore threads could be used. Third, make sure that you grease some of the bike parts before riding or you will be having metal on metal grinding that will shorten the lifespan of the bike considerably. Overall it isnt a bad bargin for under 140 bucks, but my advise is to have it checked out by a bicycle shop before riding it long distances for your safety. One last note, there is nothing like having your rear brakes (assembled by the company) not be able to slow the bike down because a couple of screws were not tight enough when assembled.

I find that the handlebars are not comfortable. It is a very nice riding bike however. It also does not fit on a standard bike rack that I use on the rear of my SUV.
Mountain Bike is a Hit, A+++     On: 2006-12-31

Purchased for my son for Christmas. I am very pleased with the quality of this bike. My son is 12 years old and needed a new bike. The bike is not too big for him, which I was concerned about when ordering but he handles it fine. But it is something he can grow with for a number of years, until he decides he wants something else or is in college. He peddled for 15 miles yesterday and he did great. The assembly took about 1 hour and was relatively easy, the bike did need some adjustments once it was taken on the first long ride, but that is normal for new bikes for a break-in period. The price was great and I could not of gotten this kind of deal for this bike from a local store. I highly recommend this and it was exactly what we wanted.
Excellent Mountain Bike     On: 2006-12-31

Great value in a good looking, nice riding entry level mountain bike. After years of non use, I pitched my old bike and bought this bike--what a value at under 140. Good looking, easy to assemble, smooth ride, great brakes and an excellent shifter. Mountain riding? I live in South Florida, cant rate that, but for an excellent riding bike, I dont think you can beat this one for the price.
buy it     On: 2006-12-28

Im not quite sure why there is any discussion over this bike. If you get it half price (140 or less) then stop reading and get it. This is my 5th mountain bike. I bought it for some friends who visit often but dont have a bike to ride. The bike is well made for an entry level mtn bike. And anyone who owns a bike knows new tires and labor are already near 100 and well over if a tune up is included.
Bottom line in 3 words: buy it--NOW (if under 140).
love it     On: 2006-12-23

the bike looks good, rides good, and its easy to assemble. cant beat the price,

I got this bike for my birthday so I put it togather and took it for a spin. The gaers shift real easy and it has a "SUPER LOW" first gear. Its pretty aesy to go up hills and it doesnt seem that heavy. Its my favorite mountain bike ive ever had and its the only mountain bike ive ever had.The front suspension works real well and the rear not so suspensiony.I like this bike alot and I think you will to.
